Treacy & Company is a management consulting and research firm with offices in Needham, MA (Boston) and Chicago, IL. We serve executive teams in some of the world’s best known firms across a number of industries--financial services, telecommunications, industrial products, healthcare, and consumer goods.

While most consulting firms focus on specific industries, we have instead built deep expertise in advising senior management teams on their most pressing performance issues related to strategy, growth and profitability. We believe this approach enables us to deliver unique insights on trends and best practices drawn from across all industries. Too often, a narrow industry focus results in identifying only those best practices of leaders in an underperforming vertical. This narrow focus can also miss important trends that span industries.

Our work draws on Michael Treacy’s three decades of research on business performance. His most recent book, Double Digit Growth: How Companies Achieve It No Matter What, has been a Business Week bestseller. It presents a common sense approach for achieving superior, profitable growth. His earlier coauthored book, The Discipline of Market Leaders, was a New York Times bestseller. It outlined the principles for winning in competitive marketplaces - develop an unmatched customer value proposition and deliver it through a superior operating model. Many companies, large and small, have adopted these principles to drive their business strategies and build competitive advantage.

Treacy & Company works in highly focused teams—typically a partner and two or three consultants—to help clients address the critical few issues that have the greatest impact on their firm’s performance. Our primary focus is on framing issues and discussions so that senior executives can best use their wealth of existing knowledge and experience. We supplant that thinking with fresh perspectives and insightful analyses. We also believe in the importance of iterative learning, and consequently we work closely with our clients to develop plans to test and refine new strategies before committing to full implementation
